The Ukrainian-Estonian startup Deftak, which develops ammunition for new generation drones, has raised €600,000 from the European defense investment fund Darkstar. The fund told AIN the news.
Deftak is developing a new type of weapon that integrates with any unmanned aircraft platform.
This makes it possible to turn reconnaissance drones into high-precision strike UAVs even in a complex electronic environment when GPS signal is not available.
The technology has already successfully passed combat tests, operates at altitudes of up to 10 km and is up to 10 times cheaper than traditional systems.
The funds raised will help Deftak to scale up production and strengthen its capabilities to help the Ukrainian and NATO defense forces.
Darkstar is a coalition of more than 20 founders, hackers, and investors from Estonia, Ukraine, Germany, France, and the UK. They all share the same goal: building an ecosystem of European defense technologies.
