Is VC Money now massively about to flow into Defence Tech?

Investment committees have struggled to back Defence Tech for years due to strict governance guidelines, but not any more
However, with governments—particularly in the EU—announcing significant investments in the sector, the industry is set for substantial growth, driving strong demand for funding.

Could this wave of opportunities over the next decade challenge the traditionally conservative stance of major public funds? Many still follow strict governance policies that restrict investments in sectors like tobacco, weapons and defence, gambling, and adult entertainment, primarily due to ethical, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns and regulatory risks.

Will this approach evolve to meet the shifting landscape? How fast can capital flow into the sector within existing funds? Or will we have to wait for new funds with adapted governance models before real investment momentum builds?

Dealroom.co’s latest newsletter highlights top European Defence Tech companies worth following—or investing in. And this is just the beginning.
