Ukraine's leading drone manufacturer, Ukrspecsystems, is set to make a significant £200 million investment in the UK, establishing a new production and training hub in East Anglia. This multi-year program will see the construction of a state-of-the-art 11,000 square meter factory in Mildenhall and a dedicated test and training facility at Elmsett, Suffolk.

This strategic move is expected to create up to 500 new jobs, including apprenticeships, across the region. The company plans to begin onboarding its UK workforce later this year, with production of drones scheduled to start in early 2026. Ukrspecsystems has also expressed its intention to expand its UK presence further over the next three years.

A Strategic Partnership for Innovation

Rory Chamberlain, Managing Director UK at Ukrspecsystems, highlighted the company's commitment to the UK. “Ukrspecsystems is proud to be the first Ukrainian company to commit to a funded plan to invest in infrastructure, jobs and skills in the UK,” he said. “Our factory at Mildenhall and flight test and training facility at Elmsett are testament to this commitment.”

The collaboration is a fusion of expertise. Ukrspecsystems, which has developed its technology in the crucible of modern warfare, will combine its "battle-winning technology and know-how" with the UK's advanced "aviation and industrial expertise." This partnership aims to position Ukrspecsystems as a global leader in uncrewed systems for both military and civilian applications, with the UK serving as a launchpad for international exports.

This investment not only strengthens the UK's defense industrial base but also underscores the growing strategic and economic ties between the two nations, leveraging Ukraine's innovative defense capabilities with the UK's industrial and technological strengths.
