The establishment of the factory is the result of agreements with several top players in the European drone industry.
Meridein Grupp, a drone solutions provider, tester and reseller operating in Estonia, has signed the first agreements with several partners, including Ukrainian drone manufacturers, to equip a drone factory in the Baltics that would start producing drones for the world's leading drone companies and the state sector.
“The agreements signed include the production of FPV (attack drones), bomber drones and ISR (intelligence drones). We are bringing the production of world-renowned and proven solutions to the Baltics,” commented Eduard Vainu, Development Manager of Meridein Grupp.
Vainu is not willing to disclose the potential locations of the drone factory for security reasons, but he mentions that the first products should roll off the factory line no later than the first half of next year.
“The goal is to produce up to 2,000 drones per day during the factory’s initial phase. The main focus will be on state-of-the-art reconnaissance drones, which play the most important role in drone warfare,” Vainu explained.
“Since Meridein also operates as a drone development and testing center, we can immediately implement new solutions in products when appropriate. We are also ready to offer our production capacity to other defense industry companies in order to increase the collective production capacity of the Baltics.”
“We do not operate as a start-up, but rather as a mature company and drone development center, thanks to which we have a lot of experience and can launch the factory and start production in a fairly short time,” Vainu added.
The size of the drone factory investment is confidential and is being carried out together with strategic partners.
